Brand new Community in South West London
Springfield Village
In January 2020, South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust announced it had secured government approval for the redevelopment of Springfield University Hospital.
The Trust entered into a contract with STEP as master developer for delivery of its Estate Modernisation Programme and the creation of Springfield Village. The programme has delivered new mental health NHS facilities at the Springfield University Hospital site in Tooting as part of the first development phase.
Springfield Village is also currently delivering: a community park; associated road network, infrastructure and energy solution; restored listed buildings and high quality new housing.
Our Vision
STEP and the Trust are committed to continue to work in collaboration with the community on the regeneration of the Springfield site. We put people at the heart of what we do. Our vision has been to build state-of-the-art mental health facilities that are an integrated part of their communities. We want people to be proud of these new facilities and to help break down the stigma those in treatment can face. Through the development at Springfield Village, we have delivered the building blocks to create a health and residential community with people’s wellbeing, both mental and physical, at its heart.
