A look ahead for March 2023

Hospital Buildings (Delivered by Sir Robert McAlpine)

  • Following the handover of the completed Trinity building, there are ongoing and final fitout works (including painting, decorating and furnishings) to Shaftesbury hospital building.

  • Mechanical and Electrical works ongoing to the Shaftesbury building which includes commissioning and testing prior to handover.

Civil and Infrastructure (Delivered by Sir Robert McAlpine)

  • The park is completed and handed over for its maturing period.

  • Public access is opened on Springfield Drive and Chapel Square.  Car parks in the new hospitals are open and car park B is closed.

  • Plot A – SRM’s new welfare is now up and running and will be located here until the end of the year.

  • The entrance to Burntwood Lane is closed and access is provided further north on Burntwood Lane. This is to allow the new road construction to progress and the junction works will commence in April 2023.

  • The pavilion building in Park A is progressing with the roof slab and muck movement is progressing. 

  • Ronald Gibson House demolition will commence this month.

  • Park C works will commence with hoarding works and preparation works, ahead of muck shifting.

Next phase of new build residential - Plots B-E and L&M (delivered by Barratt London)

  • Blocks L and M are fully occupied

  • Block B1 partially occupied (houses and duplex units predominantly), March handovers to the remaining plots

  • Blocks B2, C1 and C2 second fix works, decorations and internal snagging ongoing

  • Block C2a is fully occupied

  • Blocks E1 and E2 – External façade works ongoing with the first fix fit out to E1 parcel

  • Groundworks continue to E1 parcel blocks/houses

Conversion of listed main building to residential - Plot S (delivered by City & Country)

Phase 1

  • Close Up, Plaster, 2nd Fix, Decoration and Finals to apartments.

  • Completion of apartments and communal areas.

  • Scaffold removal to remaining areas.

  • External finishes.

  • Legal completions.

  • Occupations

  • Completed on 43no plots to date.

  • Handover of communal areas and externals to management company

Phase 2

  • Soft strip and demolition works ongoing.

  • Drainage and services.

  • Scaffold erection and adaptions.

  • Structural alterations and repairs.

  • Roofing works.

  • Re-Facing of brickwork elevations

  • Masonry repairs and cleaning.

  • Commence internal fit out

The Meadowcroft Care Home - Plot H (delivered by Lawrence Baker)

The Meadowcroft care home opened its doors to residents last month. The former care home Ronald Gibson House, which sits in Plot G, is due to be demolished in Spring 2023.
