A look ahead for June 2023

Hospital Buildings (Delivered by Sir Robert McAlpine)

  • Following the handover of the Trinity building, there are final fitout works (including painting, decorating and furnishings) to Shaftesbury hospital building.

  • Mechanical and Electrical works are still ongoing to the Shaftesbury building which includes commissioning and testing prior to handover.

Civil and Infrastructure (Delivered by Sir Robert McAlpine)

  • The park is completed and handed over for its maturing period.  It will open in July 2023.

  • Public access is opened on Springfield Drive and Chapel Square.  Car parks in the new hospitals are open and car park B is closed to allow Park C to progress.

  • Plot A – SRM’s new welfare is now up and running and will be located here until the end of the year.

  • The entrance to Burntwood Lane is closed and access is provided further north on Burntwood Lane. This is to allow the new road construction to be completed and open up mid June 2023.  The junction works is nearing completion.

  • The pavilion building in Park A is progressing with the roof works completed.  Muck movement is ongoing to allow the Belvedere to commence.  Pathways will start imminently.

  • Ronald Gibson House demolition is completed.  Plot remediation to commence to allow handover to the plot developer.

  • Ruskin lane works progressing, which will allow the G1 bus to return to Springfield Village at the end of the Summer.

  • Harewood House demolition is progressing, with soft strip ongoing and the removal of the licenced asbestos will commence this month.

  • Switchover works are being coordinated with the Trust for Storey, Elizabeth Newton, Morrison, Shaftesbury and Phoenix Buildings.

  • Park C muck shift works progressing and the BT diversion is happening, to allow the attenuation pond to be excavated.

  • Road 4; Lapidge Drive will commence this month.

Next phase of new build residential - Plots B-E and L&M (delivered by Barratt London)

  • Blocks L and M are fully occupied

  • Block B1 is fully occupied

  • Blocks B2, C1 and C2 handovers ongoing

  • Block C2a is fully occupied

  • Blocks E1a, E1b and E1c handovers ongoing

  • Groundworks continue to E1 parcel blocks, area open to the general public from July

  • Groundworks continue to E2 parcel blocks

  • Block D1a and D2c houses - Superstructure works ongoing

Conversion of listed main building to residential - Plot S (delivered by City & Country)

Phase 1

  • Plaster, 2nd Fix, Decoration and Finals to remaining apartments.

  • Completion of apartments and communal areas.

  • Scaffold removal to remaining areas.

  • External finishes.

  • Legal completions.

  • Occupations

  • Completed on 48no plots to date. 

Phase 2

  • Demolition and structural alteration works ongoing to the Engineering Block and Boiler House.

  • Drainage and services.

  • Scaffold erection and adaptions.

  • Structural alterations and repairs.

  • Roofing works.

  • Re-Facing of brickwork elevations.

  • Masonry repairs and cleaning.

  • Internal fit out ongoing to ‘Kitchen Block’ area.
