Springfield Village Team Supporting Mental Health Awareness Week (10-16 May 2021)

After a really tough year for all of us living through the pandemic, looking after our mental health is so important. That’s why the Springfield Village team is committed to raising Mental Health Awareness. Below we are sharing some of the initiatives put forward by the South West London & St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG) and our construction partners.

Main contractor for the mental health units, park and infrastructure Sir Robert McAlpine supports its staff with access to Mental Health First Aiders. Click below to hear from two of these staff members.

Barratt London (housebuilder for plots B-E and L&M at Springfield) also supports staff with Mental Health First Aiders and has produced a video to help employees start a conversation about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health.

Both firms are conscious that incidences of mental health problems in the construction industry are higher than average and so also offer toolbox talks and webinars on the subject as well as comprehensive Employee Assistance Programmes.
