Summer Street Party on 5th July - Site access

The new Springfield Village is continuing to take shape ahead of its official opening at Springfield Hospital’s Summer Street Party on 5 July.

A number of road and access changes around the site will affect vehicular and pedestrian access over the coming months as improvement works progress.

The stretch of Springfield Drive outside the Trinity and Shaftesbury buildings will host one of the Trust’s Summer Street Parties on Wednesday 5 July. This road will therefore be closed between 8am and 5pm on this day as shown above.

During these times a diversion will be in place via Seacole Walk to maintain vehicular access across the site, via Bicknell Way.

A one-way traffic flow system will be in place where this road narrows, so movement across the site may be slower than usual during this time.

We will be working to minimise any disruption on the day and look forward to welcoming our whole community to the new Springfield Village. Find out more about the Street Party and sign up here.

As part of ongoing infrastructure works at Springfield, a section of Lapidge Drive outside The 1840 building is also temporarily closed for resurfacing by our construction partners between 5 June and 14 August 2022.

Burntwood Lane entrance – opening delayed

Unfortunately the opening of the permanent Burntwood Lane entrance has been delayed. We hope to receive confirmation that the road is open soon but in the meantime, please continue to use the Bicknell Way entrance at the north west corner of the site.

Thank you for your patience as these infrastructure works progress.
