Residential Construction Update
City & Country
In July 2020, City & Country, our heritage developer converting the listed buildings on site to new homes, achieved detailed planning approval for their first phase of development in the main building (plot S), now called The 1840 (see plan below).
They have now established a compound area to receive materials into storage and allow controlled parking for the site staff and visitors.
Within The 1840, soft stripping has been undertaken to much of the first phase, focusing on the central tower where the Sales Suite is to be situated.
Structural works have commenced on the basement and ground floor levels of the central tower, to form new openings and accesses.
In addition, scaffolding has been erected to the perimeter of the central tower to allow initial eye level assessment of repairs needed to the fabric of the tower, followed by commencement of remedial works to the brickwork and roof.
During the course of the next four weeks, City & Country intends to complete the soft stripping and structural alterations required for the construction of The 1840’s Sales Suite.
Barratt London
Barratt London is the new build residential developer for plots B-E and L-M (see plan below) on the Springfield site.
Construction of the new Barratt London Sales Suite will begin in late October 2020, ahead of the scheme launching next year as Springfield Place.
The suite will be situated on plots L and M and accessed via Glenburnie Road. The structure will be a traditionally-built single story unit with designated access for up to four parking spaces, and will comprise a working office for the sales staff as well, as a Show Home presenting the look and feel of the new homes to be delivered.
