Springfield Hospital redevelopment site to recommence work in line with Government guidance on COVID-19

Our priority on this project currently is to commence these important works as soon as possible whilst ensuring we are able to keep our people and the local community safe.

In line with latest guidance published on 31 March 2020 from the Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (see the link below), works on the Springfield Hospital and infrastructure construction site will recommence from today (1 April 2020).

Coronavirus (COVID-19): letter to the construction sector

Since the decision was taken to pause works last week, we have been monitoring official advice for construction sites and our main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine has carried out thorough health and safety checks and made all adjustments necessary to reopen the site in line with the latest guidance.

Our staff, partners and supply chain have been briefed and we would like to thank all those involved with the development and the local community for their understanding at this challenging time.

We will continue to monitor the situation carefully over the coming weeks and provide regular updates. We are working to make sure we do not put anyone further at risk of COVID-19 and will be following the Site Operating Procedures (SOP) as published by the Construction Leadership Council.
